CHIRP XR
CHIRP XR is a Valencian start-up born at the Universitat Politècnica de València and its iTEAM research institute. We combine radar research with AI to build systems that let machines perceive and navigate where other sensors cannot, from industrial robotics to defence.
Products
HAWK: 3D occupancy mapping for robot navigation, from radar alone. The first commercial radar system that generates 3D occupancy maps for navigation in ROS 2.
Values
- Research-driven: Our products come from our own research, which we publish openly in CHIRP Labs.
- Reliable by design: We design for the conditions in which a system cannot afford to fail.
- Close to our clients: We tailor every deployment to the application in front of us.
CHIRP Labs
Research, demonstrations and essays published by CHIRP.
- Presenting HAWK at Valencia Digital Summit 2026. Release 2026.7, Demo, 22 October 2026. CHIRP presented HAWK at Valencia Digital Summit 2026, a summit of 12,000 attendees from 120 countries: a live demonstration of 3D occupancy maps for robot navigation, recovered from radar alone with AI, on the Universitat Politècnica de València stand.
- Contactless Vital Signs from mmWave Echo Phase. Release 2026.6, Science, 16 October 2026. How a commercial 79 GHz radar recovers breathing and heart rate from millimetre chest motion, how it decides when an estimate cannot be trusted, and a first step towards contactless blood pressure estimation.
- Radar’s second life. Release 2026.5, Essay, 25 September 2026. AI is widening what radar can understand, from private spaces to dangerous skies. A CHIRP Labs essay on the evidence, the opportunity and the hard questions.
- Distributed ISAC with Unsynchronized FMCW Sensors. Release 2026.4, Demo, 10 September 2026. Best Demo Award at the one6G Summit 2026: a live demonstration of three unsynchronized FMCW sensors that detect each other through mutual interference and use the resulting bistatic links to enhance sensing.
- A Single Reference Chirp for Full-Band Channel Estimation. Release 2026.3, Communications, 21 July 2026. A technical account of how one protected OCDM chirp can expose a full-band channel estimate while retaining a conventional CP/FDE receiver.
- Physical Trust from Mutual mmWave Radar Interference. Release 2026.2, Science, 8 July 2026. Physical-layer key material generation from reciprocal bistatic channels created by mutual FMCW radar interference.
- A Cable-Free Channel Sounder from Mutual FMCW Interference. Release 2026.1, Demo, 5 June 2026. A low-cost, real-time channel sounder that exploits interference between commercial 79 GHz FMCW sensors to measure wideband channels without synchronization or cabling.
